What a business owner needs...

Do you offer this?

What does every on-line business need? Traffic? Graphics?
Great copy? Stickeness? Even tho the above are essential
for any person delving into the on-line marketing business,
There is one that will hold their business together…..

Customer service

With-out great customer service, your business will not go
anywhere. Sadly to say, most on-line marketers are there just
for the quick buck. ( check my “about” ) Don’t get me wrong,
it is the same in the “brick and mortor” arena. It’s a shame it
has to be like this, but it is reality.

So how do you set yourself apart from the others? Two
words…Customer Service….Customer Satisfaction….
Don’t try to “Baffle with BS” or “Blind with Brilliance”,
your customers will see right thru you. If it happens after
a purchase, and they come away with a sour taste in their
mouth, you can kiss them goodby as future customers.

A quick story…I had purchased some adsense sites
and some blogs from a well known Marketer. Now, being
html and ftp challenged, getting one of the sites to work
was a major undertaking. I have my own site, hosting
with cpanel, and an autoresponder. I have been at this
for some time now, but have never tried using pre-built
sites. To be blunt, I made a mess of it. So I e-mailed this
person on a Saturday afternoon, not expecting a reply
until maybe Monday, and he responded with-in a couple
of hours. He walked me thru it, and offered suggestions.
Not only did he respond quickly, but so did the main site.
He is a re-seller for them. They had no obligation to respond
to my cries for help, but they did.

What this shows is that he knew that if he helped me get
the site up and running, even with all the “trials and tribulations”,
I would walk away with a good feeling in my gut and would be
more apt to buy from him again.

Remember, keep your customer’s needs in the fore-front,
treat them fairly, and you can count on them being customers
for a long time.

Ever hear of VIRAL MARKETING?? He did….

Advertising is ???

Advertising is??

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding
Advertising. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference
in how you think about Advertising. Not to mention the bottom line
if you are trying to build a home based business.

Advertising is ???

Is it something to be regarded as a work of beauty or art? Is it clever
slogans or amusing prose? Is it workmanship to be judged for an award or
recognition?

It’s none of the above.

Advertising is salesmanship multiplied. Nothing more.
And advertising copy, or copywriting, is salesmanship in print.

The purpose of a copywriter’s job is to sell. Period.
The selling is accomplished by persuasion with the written word, much like a
television commercial sells (if done properly) by persuading with visuals and
audio.
( Read this as many times as it takes to sink in ). This goes for website
content, blog content, or your pre-sell copy on sales pages. Remember this:
in Internet Marketing, copy ( good copy ) makes great content.

As Claude Hopkins wrote in his timeless classic, Scientific Advertising:
“To properly understand advertising or to learn even its rudiments one must start
with the right conception. Advertising is salesmanship. Its principles are the
principles of salesmanship. Successes and failures in both lines are due to
like causes. Thus every advertising question should be answered by the
salesman's standards."

“Let us emphasize that point. The only purpose of advertising is to make sales.
It is profitable or unprofitable according to its actual sales."
“It is not for general effect.
It is not to keep your name before the people. It is not primarily to aid your
other salesmen. Treat it as a salesman. Force it to justify itself.
Compare it with other salesmen. Figure its cost and result. Accept no excuses
which good salesmen do not make. Then you will not go far wrong."

“The difference is only in degree. Advertising is multiplied salesmanship.
It may appeal to thousands while the salesman talks to one. It involves a
corresponding cost. Some people spend $10 per word on an average advertisement.
Therefore every ad should be a super-salesman."

“A salesman's mistake may cost little. An advertiser’s mistake may cost a
thousand times that much. Be more cautious, more exacting, therefore.
A mediocre salesman may affect a small part of your trade. Mediocre advertising
affects all of your trade.”

These points are as true today as they were when they were written nearly
one hundred years ago! So the goal then becomes: how can we make our advertising
as effective as possible.

The answer is to test. Test again. And then test some more.
If ad “A” receives a two percent response rate, and ad “B” receives three
percent, then we can deduce that ad “B” will continue to outperform
ad “A” on a larger scale.

Testing takes time, however, and can be expensive if not kept in check.
therefore, it’s ideal to start with some proven tested known ideas and work from
there.

For example, if testing has shown for decades or more that targeted
advertising significantly outperforms untargeted advertising (and it does),
then we can start with that assumption and go from there.

If we know based on test results that crafting an ad that speaks directly
to an individual performs better than addressing the masses (again, it does),
then it makes little sense to start testing with the assumption that it does not.
This is common sense.
So it stands to reason that knowing some basic rules or techniques about writing
effective copy is in order. Test results will always trump everything,
but it’s better to have a starting point before you test.

So this starting point is the essence of this article and future articles.

Using off-line marketing techniques

First of all, Internet Marketing is just like mail order...but without the mail.

Think about it...isn't a well done web site nothing more than a sales letter?
When you get a bunch of hits to your web site isn't it the same as sending out
sales letters to people in the mail? Of course it is! The basic marketing
principles for the Internet are the same as mail order. The only major
difference is the speed in which you can deliver information to your prospects
...and the speed in which they can buy from you.
O.K....Let's take what mailorder millionaire Jeff Paul did, "steal" it, and
apply it to the Internet. Instead of working like crazy just to get a bunch of people to visit your web site (and read your sales letter)...what would happen
if you got people to request free information from you via e-mail?It would be
like having a big crowd of people raise their hands and say, "Hey! We're
interested in buying from you! Please send us your sales material!"If these
people read your sales material do you think you'll get any orders?? Of course
you will! You know they're interested in YOUR product because they specifically asked you for information!
Remember our earlier discussion about how it takes the average internet customer a minimum of SEVEN visits to a web site before they buy anything? See, if you get people to request information from you about your product (instead of sending them straight to your web site where they'll most likely just leave without buying anyway) you will get more sales ...guaranteed!Here's why this will work better than anything you've ever tried, hands down: Because that person gave you their e-mail address and said, "Hey, I'm interested in what you have...please send me some info about it"... They have given you permission to send them sales materials and updates as often as you want until they buy from you or ask you to stop... And if you send them good information along with your sales materials, they will grow to respect you as an expert in your field and look forward to hearing from you! You know it takes most people at least SEVEN times before they will buy anything online... so the more you follow up with your prospects, the more they will visit your site, order your products, and refer you to others. You can then make even more money by sending your prospects offers for other products such as affiliate programs. The absolute bottom line is this: Instead of just getting "hits", you want people to give you their permission to send them information via e-mail. Once you have this permission, you begin to establish a relationship with your prospects that is beneficial to them, and built on trust.
It's what Robert Allen, author of New York Times best selling book, Multiple Streams of Internet Income, refers to as "going deep."Here's what he says about "going deep"."Going deep means that you position yourself as the in-depth expert on what your [prospects] want...and you create a deepening relationship with them. A lifetime relationship. As the relationship deepens, they will buy from you more products, services, and information at increasingly higher prices---because price will not be the issue."
And the reason for this is that they trust you. Because you've given them free information of value and positioned yourself as an expert, they no longer see you as just another person out there saying, "gimme your money". They see you as a friend and advisor.
